You were sent back to your depot for some much-needed maintenance, then powered down until the next job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now you\u2019re active again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The wall clock is unhelpfully flashing \u201c00:00\u201d, your internal chronometer is reporting a confused \u201cLow Battery Error\u201d, there\u2019s dust everywhere, the <strong>Days Since A Health &amp; Safety Incident<\/strong> flip-board is stuck on \u2018999\u2019, and it looks as though it caught fire at some point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There don\u2019t appear to be any people in the depot, but the wall screen is showing a grainy image of a woman bracing herself against the wall of a sloping corridor, peering up into the camera, asking. \u201cIs anyone receiving me? Is there anyone out there? We need help. Depot 17, are you there?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The System<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ve stitched this system together from a\nfew sources &#8211; Mostly \u201cTinyFate\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s based on Fate, but it drops skills\naltogether. <br>\nYou have five Aspects describing the character; Where they apply, you get a +1,\nor a -1 if they apply in a detrimental way. That&#8217;s in addition to any Fate\npoints you spend, or Free-taggable aspects which may be floating around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each Bot has these aspects;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Design<\/strong> &#8211; Features of the Bot; How it&#8217;s built, what it looks like<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Downside<\/strong> &#8211; Bots aren&#8217;t perfect. The same features they were built with can\nalso be really irritating<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Role<\/strong> &#8211; What does it do?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Knack<\/strong> &#8211; Something unexpected they can do<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Quirk<\/strong> &#8211; Outside of it&#8217;s job, what is the Bot like? What, aside from their\nservomotor system, moves them?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A\nRobot Must Have A N.A.M.E.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Natural-language Appellation and Management\nExpression &#8211; An identifier assigned to the Bot so that workers, supervisors,\nand indeed other bots can be clear about who they\u2019re addressing. Serial or\nProduction numbers don\u2019t work so well for that, so they tend to go with\nsomething easy to remember for a Bot\u2019s N.A.M.E.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>And\nA Few Other Things<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bots can communicate with each other at\nvery high speed by radio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They can also use regular spoken\ncommunication if they\u2019d prefer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All bots have some ability to pick things\nup, move them around, and manipulate them, even if that doesn\u2019t make a whole\nlot of sense, because it\u2019d be dull and annoying if they couldn\u2019t.<strong><br>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The\nCharacters <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Scaffold,\nAccess, &amp; Enclosure System<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The\nSDT-800 has been designed from the ground up as an all-purpose safe access\nsystem, able to configure itself to meet both worksite safety &amp; public\naccess and sightline concerns in real time.
