Today was a designated don’t do much day. About my only goal was to get out of the hotel, and I managed that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The capsule has an air conditioning feed, so it can get chilly in there; Another resident said she found it so cold she had to crank the vent closed. Mattress is good, there’s a couple of power points, a TV that frankly just gets in the way, and a lock box. They also provided a towel & an amenities kit in that black bag on the wall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hammered down with rain in the early morning, but it was gone by the time I was outside-mobile, and people had their laundry out to dry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wandered around Chinatown for a bit, with no real agenda, then took the metro to Harbourside, which turns out to mostly be shopping malls at a variety of price points, plus the actual water. I’d gotten the impression that Sentosa Island was a fair way off the coast, reachable by gondola & maybe ferry; Turns out there’s a causeway, and you can just walk there. Pretty sure I’ve rowed further.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once I was a bit along the causeway I could see past the ferry terminal, and a bloody great container terminal came into view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Causeway is nice, and has travelators that were turned off, and made for a pleasant walk. Found out about various walks on the island, so I’m planning to come back with a bigger water supply & a hat, because it does look like a nice place to wander around. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are theme parks & the like there, but I’m not really into those, so probably also a cheap day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a good number of hours I wandered back to the hotel\/hotel & ended up taking a nap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finished up the day by chatting with people online & updating my travel journal in the common space, which is also the reception area, & has a little book swap corner. A departing resident gave me her copy of Lonely Planet: Singapore, so when I’m done with it, it can be added to the one that’s already on the shelf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
