This turned out to be a walking day; 9.1 km according to the smart watch. I’d initially thought about hiring a bike again, but in the end decided in a less active day, though I’m not sure how “less active” means 9.1 km.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve seen a few Bus Turned Into Karaoke Bar places here. Don’t know why it’s a thing, but apparently it’s a thing.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Made it to homestay breakfast in time for breakfast by throwing on yesterday’s clothes. Though I’m not sure they’re that strict on the time, or that I’ve even remembered the times properly, now that I think on it. Anyway, the important part is that I got some breakfast even though I slept in a bit, end of the end had a shower later. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Went for a stroll while thinking about where I might cycle to it I rented another bike, tripped, and fell into a comfy chair in a riverside cafe called Coffee Lan, where I parked myself, read a book, eventually got some lunch, and I’m pretty sure nodded off to sleep a couple of times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The actual cafe was behind me, on the other side of a narrow road\/lane, but they had a one-deep row of chairs & tables on the other side of that lane, right by the lake. I saw one of the rowboat people let a couple have a go at rowing, with both hands and feet, to much amusement all around. The bit I was sitting in also seemed to be an access point for a small cluster of rowboats, so every once in a while somebody would squeeze past, climb over the railing, and clamber into a boat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Walked out to Bich Dong pagoda after I’d decided that I’d done enough cycling yesterday. I was out there yesterday on my ride, but didn’t stop, partly because I was enjoying the ride, and partly because the insistent Go That Way signals felt like a set-up for a payment. Given that I noticed a Free Parking sign on one of the cafes a little bit short of that place, I’m guessing the payment was for bike parking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was a photographer trying to get pictures of someone in costume on the bridge, which was difficult because of all the people using it. shrug<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s not a lot I can say that’s not just describing the photos, so I’ll shut up for a bit, and meet you further down the post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was a second site further up the hill, up some old & worn-smooth stairs, on which someone had a fall. Fortunately not an over the edge sort of fall, because while it wouldn’t be a bad enough fall to kill you unless you were very unlucky, you’d definitely be breaking something<\/em> going off those things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There were people trying to sell souvenirs, of course, some more persistent than others. For some reason little tube shaped whistles were a thing, which … Seems an odd souvenir?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
