The train trip took more out of me than I expected, or maybe I’m a bit unwell, but I didn’t feel great today. Doesn’t feel like anything to worry about, and I don’t think it’s any of the “don’t drink the water” conditions because my understanding is that those are pretty unambiguous; Just didn’t feel that great.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, I slept well, and a lot, but still felt kinda tired today, so it took me a long time to get moving. Followed the directions of the homestay owner to a Banh Mi place for breakfast, & found that there was a massive queue, so I went to a coffee shop on the corner instead, where Christmas was in full swing, including in the piped music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Something that happened a little bit on my US trip in 2016 is happening even more here; Seeing the same people in different places.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was a young Danish couple who were at the table with me on the boat tour, who were also staying at the hotel across the street from me in Cat Ba. And were on the same bus to Ninh Binh, and stayed at a place a little further up the lane from me there. Pretty sure I saw the guy from that couple riding a bike here in Hoi An.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I mention this because I also spotted someone from the hostel in Hanoi in the coffee shop today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My own little version of the Banana Pancake Trail, though I’ve got to say I’m not blown away by the Banana Pancake thing here. Not my preferred style of pancake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because I was feeling a bit off, today became a “do what you can” day, because I’ve found that trying to force yourself to go and do stuff when you’re not feeling great is really just asking<\/strong> for trouble. I arranged to get some laundry done, & found out where I could get my Cambodian eVisa printed, & actually got the thing printed, so I’m classing today as a win. I did what I could, I wandered around the old town as much as feeling ‘off’ would allow, and that’ll do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
