There are a few cats who live along the street. I’ve tried making friends with them, but they have important cat business to do, and can’t be wasting time with people who aren’t offering premium snacks. Which seems fair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This one lives at a coffee place up the street; I’ve seen them, at various times, lying smugly on the counter. Customers just sort of work around them<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I spotted, but didn’t photograph, a black cat who was being a Mighty Hunter one morning; Hiding behind a step with just their eyes showing, lining up on their prey. Which turned out to be a flying bug which immediately scarpered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coffee Art at Nook, a cafe attached to one of the hostels along the main road a way. Almost all of the caf\u00e9s around here seems to be associated with accommodation of some kind <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Something that’s still happening is people wandering in off the street & asking about vacancies, though more in the daylight hours, thankfully. One group did arrive late, after reception closed but while Phai was still here, bluntly\/rudely saying that they were here to check in, which was a bit of a surprise, given that the hostel was full.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They did have a reservation; For a different hostel. Because, as a friend put it, “Reading Is Hard”. Seriously, the sign is bigger than I am. They must have simply walked up to the first hostel they saw on this street & assumed it was the right\/only one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Probably every second business on this street is a hostel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wat Lok Moli<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Wandered through this temple, just down the main road, trying to stay out of the way of people visiting for spiritual purposes & hopefully succeeding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was a rope-line thing which allowed people to transport a little tube of water up to a statue high on the temple & pour the water, though a certain amount ended up on the paving stones if they weren’t careful <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Lots of these little banners, & someone selling(?) them at a stand & giving people a bamboo pole to hang the banners up with <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I went for a walk around the perimeter of the Old City, because I couldn’t decide what to do, so figured I might as well be indecisive while walking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No reason, I just thought it was a nice image. And I have a friend who likes snails<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

It ended up being a nice evening in the hostel; A bunch of folks sitting around and chatting. And I learned that I’m not the only one who hates booking flights and finds it super-stressful.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
