Slept pretty well at the hostel in Bangkok, and got to the airport in plenty of time for the flight to Singapore. I’d assumed that I’d need to get a Grab or Taxi or something, but the hostel had a ride option, which turned out to be “hostel owner drives you there”, at around the same price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Somewhere over the last day I got a message from folks at About A Bed in Chiang Mai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I get nervous going through airport security & customs & so on, but it was all OK. They did take my carry-on into the inspection lane, but then didn’t inspect it once I identified myself as the owner; Maybe a ‘do they react badly’ check?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flight was uneventful, and the automatic visa system once again sent me an email. I’m assuming that if there’s any issues at all the gates won’t let you through, because I don’t see much to stop someone once they’re on the other side. Customs declaration is on the honour system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Made it to the hostel without incident, and some wandering around revealed this little gem;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though I’ve got to say that while Kaya Toast With Half-Boiled Eggs may be a classic, the French Toast or Waffle version sounds like an abomination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I booked this hostel months ago, and … I’m glad it’s a one-night stay for me. It’s not bad<\/em>, as such, it’s just that it’s the worst one of the trip.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
