This was something we spotted last year, mostly because of the artwork, and decided that it could be our “everyone plays this” game for the year. (Our group filled the table, which was a relief because I’ve been That One Guy at a table where everyone else is a group of friends, and it can lead to you being sidelined unless the GM and at least some of the group aren’t on top of things)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scenario started with us all standing in a field, with no memory of how we got there or who we were, when a train came by and collected us. Apparently it does that for all the recently dead folks. 😬<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our peaceful enjoyment of the train ride was Of Course interrupted by something outside of the train, and we got enlisted by the conductor to help out. So we roamed around the train, solved the problems of a few of the Haints on board, managed to not piss off the Lord & Lady who’d created the train too much, and tried to help out when something went horribly wrong and the train crashed. You know, standard stuff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don’t remember what everyone else was, but I was playing a doll of some sort, so I tried to channel my inner chaos goblin. And then to limit said chaos goblin when a card reading was done & some dire warnings were made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was fun. It’s what I’m thinking of as a Folk Horror setting, though I still don’t know that much about it yet, but … I’d like to find out more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of systems, this is a setting for D&D 5.5ed, so there’s a lot of stuff<\/strong> on the character sheets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
