Yesterday took a fair bit out of me, so today was more of a quiet one. Went outside of Chinatown for breakfast, primarily because the place I’d planned to go to wasn’t open, and I only remembered the places on the other side of the station when it was too late & I was already in the system.
Saw this sculpture thing though, so that was pretty cool.

Put the Lonely Planet Singapore guide on the shelf next to the other Lonely Planet Singapore guide, right by the Dutch-Language guide to New Zealand. I’m assuming someone had a flight from NZ, forgot to leave the book when they left the country, and didn’t want to take it with them.

Did a bunch of admin stuff;
- Laundry, because while I’m sure the next place has options, I like to be able to hit a new location with as much clothing wiggle room as possible.
- VPN, because I’ve been meaning to get one anyway, and dodgy networks abound while travelling. And also streaming media services, because I miss my stories.
- Printing out a few useful documents, so that there’s a hard copy of the Travel Insurance stuff; I plan to keep it with my passport, so if I’m not able to deal with it, the information is there.
Packed up the bags in pretty good time, so I headed over to Gardens by the Bay to see whether I could catch the light+music show I didn’t make it to last time. Not as spectacular as the fountain thing, but still very pretty.

Christmas Village?

The white thing is a ‘floating’ baby sculpture, which doesn’t photograph well.

Giant multicoloured cat sculpture, which also doesn’t photograph well.

Back at the hostel, as I was getting ready for bed, I ended up giving a new one-night-stay arrival a quick run through of the setup here; She was wondering about where to store stuff securely, but also where to change clothes. Probably her first hostel, I’m thinking, and this place has more hostel features than hotel ones, despite the name.
