Didn’t really get to sleep until after midnight. Being able to sprawl out was great, and having air-conditioning & a fan running made for a comfortable night. That said, it had been a stressful day, and I’d not slept well the previous night, so I didn’t exactly wake up feeling my best.
Got a better view of the expressway outside; There are hotels on the other side as well. I did open the balcony doors, but it didn’t add much to the experience.

I wandered downstairs in search of water, and ended up with breakfast, which included the Toothpaste Tube Of Condensed Milk Experience. Until the reception guy pointed it out, I’d assumed it was a tube of toothpaste someone had left there.

Toast, fried egg, banana, and an assortment of vegetables that I didn’t eat based on the instructions not to consume anything that hadn’t been cooked, peeled, or opened.

There was a slight view of the street, and I saw the classic Vietnam scene of woman in black pajama-like clothing wearing a conical hat & riding a scooter.

My room. I don’t think the hotel was very busy (saw a couple of guests checking out as I did breakfast), and most of the room doors were sitting open; Maybe for temperature control?

Something that amused me far more than it should is that the hotel-provided shower shoes (I have my own pair of Snoopy astronaut jandals I bought in Singapore after a moment of ick with the thought of the communal ones at the hotel) do not in any way match.

Packed up again (I might be getting better at that), and got another Grab ride to the next hostel. Much longer trip this time, but a nice view in places as the road crosses through agricultural areas. Had a moment at the drop-off where I wondered if I was being taken to the wrong place, but it was just that the alleyway was super narrow and the car wouldn’t fit down it, but you could see the place.
Hostel room seems good. There are lockers big enough to fit my bag in with room to spare, a bedside locker, a couple of power points and a little light. Figured out that I can shut the curtain ties in the locker door to pull the curtains fully closed, and use my emergency light (which has a clip & a magnet) to close the bit at the top.

The past day caught up with me, so I took a nap, and that’s more or less what I did with the rest of the day.
Met the guy in the bunk above, who was recovering from some kind of illness & debating his next move. It had been some kind of fever that sent him to the hospital, and he was on antibiotics.
