Edinburgh Again

This time I’m staying out near the airport, where the hotels are cheaper, but the tramline will take you into the city centre easily.

Though one of the two catch-ups with folks went late enough that the last tram had gone, so I utilised their guest room.

One catch-up was with someone I knew, plus a few others, including a newly hired New Zealander; Apparently the one in my old team is recruiting people from the NZ equivalent of the former company. He’s only there for a one year contract to cover for someone who’s gone on sabbatical.

Insert screaming about the company here; For all that sabbaticals aren’t a given (though if your best response to “this is unfair” is to point out that you don’t have to allow one, I feel like you’re admitting to being a shit person), I’ve not heard of anyone being turned down for one, and neither had anyone else I’d asked

The other was with a co-worker friend from Aylesbury who’s since moved to Edinburgh.

Just because I thought it was funny
