Progress Report, Week One

  • Bank Account, in-branch attempt.
Nope, an appointment for an interview won’t be until next week, but you can use our online service instead.
  • Bank Account, online attempt.

  • National Insurance number, first attempt.

  • National Insurance number, second attempt.
Our system is down, please call back later.
  • National Insurance number, third attempt.

    1. That doesn’t sound fun. At all.
I’m reminded of how Thatcher arranged things to help wider society, so that you needed an address to get unemployment money, and the amount of time that you would take to get processed was long enough you’d get kicked out. Thus, no address, thus ineligible for unemployment money.

    2. Yeah, …

I’m hoping that it’s just automated systems being unhelpful, and an actual Human Fleshbag at a bank can look at the situation and tick some boxes.

I’d rather not simply lie to them.
