Sunday: Day 4 :: Urban Shadows & The Hall Of Spending

Urban Shadows again. This time I went for something about as far from ‘normal person’ as possible, and played a ghost. I feel like I got the game more this time, the idea of using the influence of your group, the trading of debts to get things done, that sort of thing

It’s a con game, so a lot of stuff doesn’t come up, but I kind of liked the idea that this is someone who was killed (eventually) in a hit and run on their way back from the gym sometime in the early 2000s.

They were four of us at the table, plus the GM, and in a Gen Con first for me I was the only male player. The GM was maybe another professional GM, or maybe a producer of stuff, I’m not certain.

He had little bottles of water, and also a dicebag of m&ms

It was a four hour block, but we finished in 2 hours, which I don’t think anyone was mad about; It’s a Sunday, and energy is flagging at that point.

We didn’t so much hurry through the scenario as come up with a plan that sort of bypassed a chunk of it. The Fae Court were planning to make a power play to de-power the Werewolves by essentially silver-coating ancestral remains & sowing wolfsbane all around the site. Our plan was to swap out the remains for a different skeleton (cashed in a debt from a vampire for that one) and substitute a similar plant for the wolfsbane, then just let the Fae Court waste their time.

Worked pretty well.

I’d been going back & forth on getting dice for the Avatar Legends game; They’re pretty, and thematic, but I don’t need them. Then again, that could be said for all of my purchases.

The idea I’d come to, after some mild enablement from Frank, was that if the Magpie Games Avatar Legends room (they had a room in the ICC done up a bit like a teahouse, and were running demos and selling stuff in there) was still open after my Urban Shadows game, I’d get the dice, and if not, then so be it; I’d not go visit their booth in the Exhibit Hall. Well, it was still open, so I got the dice.

And a dicebag.

Because I have poor sales resistance.

These next bits are things I saw in the Exhibit/Dealer/Vendor Hall that looked interesting enough that I wanted to make a note of them. And a few “look at the cool banner” pictures.
