Seattle Moving Day

Well, moving from Hotel to Hostel. It’s sort of a moving day.

Realised I never took a photo of the inside of the hotel I was staying at; The Moore Hotel on 2nd Avenue

The hotel wasn’t in a great area, I think? The area about a block away towards the conference centre seemed worse, just from the number of clearly drugged-up people seen & count of meth pipes in use.

I didn’t feel particularly unsafe, I’d like to point out; The hotel kept a close eye on who was coming in, especially in the evening, and when you look like me an attitude of I’m Just Walking Here, Got Someplace To Be means people leave you alone. But I wouldn’t want to hang around?

I spent a chunk of the time between checkout & check-in doing Tourist Stuff, which in this case means wandering through Pike Place Market, the area around said market, and along the waterfront.

I’ve lost count of how many Blarney Stone pubs I’ve seen around the world. If I ever get to name a pub, I’m calling it Paddy O’Cliché’s.
You can’t really see it, but the subtitle is that it’s a Very French Bakery, which made me think of “The 5000 Fingers Of Dr. T” ( Is it … French? Yes; VERY French )

I got a lower bunk in the hostel dorm, which I’m pretty happy about, and it’s right by the AC at the far end of the room, so a nice combination of background white noise, not overheating, and less disturbance from other folks in the room.
