Another great episode. I do want to mention that your trap master, Simon, has a published counterpart: Grimtooth. The Grimtooth line of traps books has hundreds of various evil ways of killing your party all at once or one by one.

Also, I’m reminded of the “Maze of Many” plotline from the Goblins webcomic. The “heroes” are trapped in a maze/dungeon with their alternate reality selves. The goal is to be the first to the end of the maze before everyone else. The winners get to the leave the maze, while the losers have their timelines reset back to when they entered the maze and have to do it all over again. Repeat for eternity…

      Thanks, John

I was kicking myself forgetting Grimtooth, and Grimtina, when I was collecting the show notes.

Some of those were worryingly inventive.

With regards to the whole deathtrap thing, I was reminded of old podcasts that people might want to listen to.

Escape Pod has some audio fiction about the maker of some particular deathtraps.

And then the people at the gamers haven did a birthday game for one of their members that was themed around a group of kobolds trying to escape from a lab. That was filled with death traps.

Jared, are these stories with a Mayan/Aztec/Inca/Misc. South American Death Trap maker & troubleshooter?

Because I could remember those during the episode, but not enough about them to be worth trying to google.
